Preparing feed for livestock, domestic animals and pets, comprises (i) mixing and processing individual raw materials, (ii) storing expected nutrient content for respective raw materials, (iii) monitoring and/or determining nutrient content of a specific raw material immediately before processing the raw material, and adjusting the calculated nutrient contents with respect to reference values in a computer device, and (iv) rearranging the feed formulation when a specific nutrient content is deviated from a pre-approved amount of its target value, and continuing preparing the feed. Preparing feed for livestock, domestic animals and pets, comprises (i) mixing and processing individual raw materials using a feed mixing device, where different raw materials are used, whose composition forms a mixed feed end product, and the respective raw material of the feed e.g. wheat, is used in a predetermined amount, (ii) storing the expected nutrient content comprising crude protein content, starch content and fat content for respective raw material as matrix values, on an electronic storage such that the prepared food product has a predetermined and defined raw material and nutrient composition, (iii) monitoring and/or determining the nutrient content of a specific raw material e.g. the protein content of wheat, during the preparation of the feed, using continuous measurements including near-infrared spectroscopy, immediately before processing the raw material, preferably between the outlet of the raw material silos and grinding or mixing process, and adjusting the calculated nutrient contents with respect to reference values in a computer device, and (iv) rearranging the feed formulation when a specific nutrient content is deviated from a pre-approved amount of its target value, and continuing preparing the feed according to renewed composition with changed calculated raw material units, such that the predetermined nutritional content is achieved. An independent claim is also included for a device for producing the feed, comprising a raw material warehouse from which raw materials are taken using the near-infrared spectroscopic device that is arranged between the raw material warehouse and a raw material processing device, where the raw material is determined before processing the raw material, with respect to their nutrient contents, preferably with respect to their raw protein content, where the current specific nutrient contents are forwarded via a process computer to a laboratory information management system (LIMS) such that when the measured nutrient content differ by a predetermined value from the matrix values stored in the LIMS, a reorganizing of the formulation is calculated through an optimization program, to ensure a compliance with specific target nutrient content for feed production. |
