The method involves changing a material structure of a flat component using a multi-stage process. The component is subjected to an annealing process (I) at a temperature of 600-700 degree Celsius before performing a final rolling operation of the component. Deformation of the component is reduced (II) up to less than 5 percent during the rolling operation. The component is cooled by passing the component via a surrounding air or a water bath. The component is heated (IV) to 300 degree Celsius using a hydrogen annealing process and cooled using the surrounding air to form a complete component. An independent claim is also included for a component.
