Provided is an optical filter capable of heightened luminance. A filter layer (22) is disposed on a substrate (21) and incident light is transmitted or reflected depending upon the wavelength and angle of incidence of the incident light. Additionally, on the filter layer (22) a structure (24) is formed which causes the light reflected at the first angle of incidence to be incident on the filter layer at a second angle of incidence different than the first angle.
