<p>A traffic light provides advance warning of a change from green to red by adding two additional periods to the standard red, green, amber light cycle. The two additional periods may each be active for about the same amount of time as the amber light cycle. Warning signs may be included that are placed a points along the road where a car travelling at the posted speed limit may pass as the state of the traffic light changes.</p> |
