[Class 108 (i).] Stretchers are secured in ambulance vehicles by means of a sleeve having a peripheral groove mounted on the end of one or each stretcher bar a pole engaging a socket provided with a spring catch and mounted on the transverse wall of the vehicle. The metal sleeve B is provided with a groove b and enters a socket D secured to the vehicle wall. The socket is provided with a slot through which a spring controlled latch bar d may project into the peripheral groove of the sleeve B. The latch bars d of adjacent sockets may be connected by a rod E for manipulating purposes.
