PURPOSE: A sand filtering apparatus using liquefaction phenomena, and a method for the same are provided to continuously reuse filtering sand by collecting clogged filtering sand and washing the collected filtering sand. CONSTITUTION: A sand filtering apparatus using liquefaction phenomena includes a filtering tank(100), a discharging part(200), a feed water supplying pipe(300), filtering sand(400), and a vibrator(500). A feed water inlet(110) is formed at one side of the filtering tank, and a purified water outlet(120) is formed at another side of the filtering tank. The discharging part is formed at the lower part of the filtering tank, and a J-shaped discharging pipe(220) is formed at the lower part of a discharging chute(210) which forms the discharging part. The feed water supplying part is spaced apart from the upper part of the discharging part, and one end part of the feed water supplying part is connected to the feed water inlet. The filtering tank and the discharging part are filled with the filtering sand. The vibrator is combined with one side of the filtering tank or the discharging part.
