A capacitor with increased thermal resilience over conventional bulk ceramic capacitors, comprising first 61 and second 62 electrodes which have a plurality of interlocating protrusions, which increase the relative surface area of the electrodes; a curable dielectric material is deposed between the protrusions; wherein at least one opening 68 is provided in the first 61 or second 62 electrodes to allow the curable dielectric material to flow through. The protrusions may have a parallel, curved or substantially circular cross-section. The dielectric may be a polymer or a ceramic loaded polymer. Also disclosed is a method of making the above device. The method may also involve using a jig to align the electrodes. |
