<p>A cell balancing device (1) includes a plurality of serially connected battery modules (8-1 through 8-n), an external generator (3), a transformer 16 including a first coil (20) and a plurality of second coils (21-1 through 21-n) connected in parallel to each of the battery modules (8-1 through 8-n), a switch (17) provided between the external generator (3) and the first coil (20), a cell balancing circuit (5) and a battery ECU (6) for electromagnetically coupling the first coil (20) and each of the second coils (21-1 through 21-n) by turning on and off the switch (17) when the difference between the output voltages of the battery modules (8-1 through 8-n) equals or exceeds a threshold.</p> |
