A device for the delivery of volatile components, i.e. fragrances or insecticides, comprises a shape-retaining gel body (2) incorporating at least one volatile component for delivery by the device by evaporation from the gel body, and a support arrangement (1) incorporated in the gel body (2) and projecting therefrom at one or more locations on the body. The device may be incorporated in an outer cage (4). The support structure may be rigid and may contain more than one elongate member. Preferably the support members (i.e. rods) cross transversely through the gel body. The gel body may be formed in more than one part, all connected to the same support structure. The gel body and the support structure may be enclosed in a casing wherein the inner surface of the casing does not touch the surface of the gel body. The method disclosed used moulds wherein the support members are positioned, and the liquid gel formulation is poured in and allowed to set.
