[Class 12 (i).] A centrifugal extractor has a bearing supported in a flexible mounting offering different degrees of restraint to angular oscillation of the spindle in different planes through its axis. The perforated bowl 1 is secured to the spindle 4 supported in the bearing box 6, which has a flange 7 resting on an annular cushion 8 of resilient material. To offer different degrees of restraint the width of the annular cushion may vary on different diameters. In the modification shown in Figs. 8 and 9 insets 14 of non-resilient material such as wood or metal are placed in the rubber buffer 13, while in the modification shown in Fig. 11 the buffer itself has a varying depth. |
