The invention relates to a fiber reinforced composite comprising at least one fiber having a lenght and a diameter, and a matrix embedding said at least one fiber and obtainable by curing a matrix precursor, the composite being obtainable by a method wherein the at least one fiber is submitted to a force in at least one direction during curing of said matrix precursor, said force being at least 1 N/mm 2 of the diameter of the at least one fiber. The invention also relates to uses of such composites.
