[Class 79 (v).] A clutch for a motor truck or similar vehicle without a gear-box, in which it is essential that the clutch shall remain disengaged when the vehicle is unattended, is disengaged by a strong spring 11 which through arms 7, 8 on the rock-shaft 5 opposes the normal weaker internal clutch spring, the clutch being held engaged by depression of a pedal 10 connected by a link 9 to a third arm 8 of the shaft 5. A lever 22 operating a brake 21 as described in Specification 324,254, [Class 79 (v), Motor vehicles, Steering &c.], carries a rod 14 sliding through the arm 8, a stop 15 on the rod contacting with the arm to ensure that while the brake is engaged, the clutch cannot be engaged.</p> |
