PURPOSE: A thermal printer is provided to reduce costs by reducing the number of manufacturing processes and parts and to completely support a shaft of a platen roller with a frame. CONSTITUTION: A thermal printer comprises a platen roller(1), a thermal head(2), and a frame. The frame comprises the thermal head and supports a bearing of the platen roller in a platen roller receiving unit formed in a lateral plate to be detachable. The platen roller receiving unit comprises an opening. The bearing of the platen roller is attached/detached to a direction orthogonal to a direction of the platen roller shaft through the opening. Protrusions are formed in a downstream side of a rotating direction of the platen roller.
