<p>A monitoring and alert device 1 for a car park lane control point having at least one equipment interface 2 to receive monitoring information from the equipment at the car park lane control point. A microprocessor 3 receives data pertaining to the monitoring information from the equipment interface 2 and determines if an abnormal situation has occurred, at the car park lane control point, based on the data pertaining to the monitoring information. A data communications circuit 4 receives an alert signal from the microprocessor 3 if the microprocessor 3 determines that an abnormal situation has occurred. The data communications circuit 4 then issues an alert message. An antenna 5 coupled to the data communications circuit 4 transmits the alert message to one or more predefined mobile telephones via a mobile telephone network to thereby provide an alert that an abnormal situation has occurred at the car park lane control point. A memory 6 is provided for storing device parameters and data. A power supply unit 7 may be used to provide a proper power source to all components so that the device 1 can function even there is a main power source failure.Figure 1.</p> |
