The machine has bars (21) mounted on a framework (1) to form a transfer bed of vegetables. The bed has cut areas followed by collection areas. The bars in each of the cut and collection areas have spacing respectively less than that of the bars of an immediately succeeding cut area and greater than that of the bars of an immediately preceding cut area. The spacing is selected to allow cutting of growths in ascending order and collection of vegetables if one immediate cut area is in advancement direction of vegetables when the vegetables advance along the bed for a single step treatment. An independent claim is also included for a treatment facility for treating different-sized vegetables.
