[Class 75 (ii).] A reflector entirely covered with reflecting prisms and adapted to cut off the direct view of the lamp filament for about 15‹ below the horizontal, is enclosed in a light diffusing envelope 5 adapted to be illuminated by the light which passes through the reflector. The reflector may be elliptical in horizontal section so as to reflect the major portion of the light in two main beams. The envelope may be of opal or frosted glass, or of clear glass with diffusing prisms 6 on the interior or exterior, and rests upon a flange 2 of the reflector, a washer 3 rendering the joint dustproof. For use at cross-roads the envelope may be coloured or a colour screen may be inserted between the two pieces of the unit. Specification 111,986, [Class 75 (ii), Lamp chimneys &c.], is referred to. |
