The device has a fixing unit comprising three fixing points (21, 22, 33) fixing to a steering wheel (10) of a car by clamping on an outer edge (11) of the steering wheel. A positioning unit positions an axis of a torque sensor relative to the fixing unit and in correspondence with a rotation axis of the steering wheel by a mechanical connection (40) i.e. sliding connection. The fixing unit comprises a mediator passing through one of the fixing points and holding positions of the other fixing points relative to the former fixing point.
