The method involves arranging inlet valves (42-44) and a jet pump (46) in a hydrogen supply line (32) for conveying of fuel i.e. hydrogen, from a hydrogen supply unit (34) into an anode portion. A measure is carried out for amplification of convection and/or of turbulence within the anode portion during a starting procedure of a fuel cell (10). The fuel with a temporal pressure impulse profile e.g. triangular pressure impulse profile, is supplied to the anode portion, where convection-amplification mode of operation comprises pulsed operation of the inlet valves and the jet pump. An independent claim is also included for a fuel cell. |
