<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easily attachable cutting insert capable of securing a positional precision of the cutting insert with respect to an insert mounting seat of a tool body, facilitating the mounting of the cutting insert, securing clamp rigidity, and enhancing the sharpness of cutting edges. <P>SOLUTION: There are included a rhombic plate-like insert body 2, a rake face 3 facing a thickness direction of the plate-like insert body 2, and acute-angled corners 4 of the rake face 3 out of peripheral walls of the plate-like insert body 2, flanks 5 intersecting with the rake face 3, the cutting edges 6 forming intersecting ridges of the rake face 3 of the plate-like insert body 2 and the flanks 5, and a mounting hole 7 formed through the plate-like insert body 2. An apex angle of the acute-angled corners 4 of the rake face 3 is 20 to 35°. Of peripheral walls of the plate-like insert body 2, an insert constraining surface 19 composed of a sintered skin is formed in a region other than the flanks 5 to reach the rake face 3.
