<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading device that can reduce an impact occurring when the rear edge of a manuscript comes into contact with a platen glass and suppress occurrence of disturbance of a read-out image when image information of the manuscript is read out. <P>SOLUTION: An image reading device for reading image information of a manuscript fed by a manuscript feeding unit at a manuscript reading position 100 has a platen glass 161 disposed at the manuscript reading position 100, a reader unit for reading the image information of the manuscript moved onto the platen glass 161, and a manuscript guide unit 12 for guiding the manuscript along the platen glass 161 so that the image information is read out by the reader unit. The manuscript guide unit 12 has plural guide pawls 107 for guiding the manuscript fed by the manuscript feeding unit onto the platen glass 161. The plural guide pawls 107 are arranged side by side in a width direction orthogonal to a manuscript feeding direction, and the length thereof in the manuscript feeding direction is shorter as the position is shifted from the center to both the sides in the width direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
