<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a life preserver which can exhibit a function as a life preserver even if holes are opened at a floating bag of the life preserver when contacting with a floatage such as rubble at a shipwreck, and gases are leaked. <P>SOLUTION: The life preserver is composed of a jacket 2, a plurality of independent airbags arranged at the jacket 2, and an operation part for supplying the gases to the airbags. Even if some of the airbags in swollen states due to the introduction of compressed gases to the airbags is/are broken, a floating state on a water level can be maintained by the buoyancy of the remaining airbags. Since the jacket 2 includes a jacket of a type having accommodation parts 4a and 4b capable of accommodating water or emergency foods at a breast and a body, life extension can be achieved by ingesting the water or the emergency foods even if a period until a rescue comes becomes long. A material formed of foaming urethane is included in a raw material of the jacket 2.
