<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotor core capable of achieving an increase in efficiency of an operation of welding between laminations of core sheets and improving performance of a rotary electric machine, and a method of manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: A rotor core, in which a plurality of core sheets S obtained by forming a magnetic steel sheet in a predetermined shape are stacked in a rotation axis direction, includes a welded part 26 in which the two core sheets S brought into contact with each other are welded to each other by laser welding, and a receding part 27 is provided on either or both of the two core sheets S welded to each other in the welded part 26.
