PURPOSE: A cascade boost and an inverting buck converter are provided to reduce peak voltage stress by providing a relatively fixed load current having a minimum ripple. CONSTITUTION: A controller(101) comprises referenced input and output control signals. The controller controls the switching of a boost converter(103) and the switching of an inverted buck converter(105). A boost pulse signal is referenced with a common voltage.
