<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide nickel/manganese composite hydroxide particles to be a precursor of cathode active material comprising lithium nickel manganese composite hydroxide having a small and uniform particle diameter and hollow structure for obtaining a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary cell having a high capacity, high power output and good cycle characteristic. <P>SOLUTION: In this method, when nickel/manganese composite hydroxide particles are obtained by crystallization reaction, an aqueous solution for nucleation at least containing Ni compound and Mn compound and not containing a complex ion forming agent which forms a complex ion with nickel, manganese and cobalt is controlled to be at a liquid temperature of not lower than 60°C and at a pH value of 11.5-13.5 based on a liquid temperature of 25°C for nucleation, then the aqueous solution containing the nuclei for particle growth is controlled to be at a liquid temperature of not lower than 60°C and at a pH value of 9.5-11.5 based on the liquid temperature of 25°C, which must be lower than the pH value in the nucleation process, for growth of the nuclei. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
