A steel railroad tie comprising an outward-opening steel channel, the bottom surface of which is open, has inclined shoulder portions at both sides of a web of the steel channel that are inclined so as to spread at an inclination angle (?) with a line segment connecting distal ends of flanges to each other, and inclined flanges that spread at a steep inclination having a greater inclination angle (ß) with the line segment than the inclination angle (?) of the inclined shoulder portions, and the cold-formed steel railroad tie is characterized in that distal-end inclined flanges are provided at the lower end portions of the inclined flanges so as to spread outward at a smaller inclination angle (a) with the line segment than the inclination angle (ß) of the inclined flanges, and the inclination angle (a) of the distal-end inclined flanges with the line segment connecting the distal ends of the flanges ranges from 32° to 60°. |
