METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PROTECTING RUNS OF ELECTRICAL CONDUCTORS

The invention relates to a method and device for protecting runs of electrical conductors. The method comprises a time-delay period and a verification period, which take place sequentially. The time-delay period in turn comprises the injection at one end of the electrical conductor of an encoded, modulated radio-frequency signal in order to: transmit at least one unique identifier; transmit the radio-frequency signal through the conductor; and receive, demodulate and decode said radio frequency signal in a head-end sensor at the other end of the run. The verification period comprises the comparison, in the head-end sensor, of the at least one unique identifier received with an internal list of unique identifiers. In the absence of the at least one unique identifier in the head end, an alarm status is generated. The method is suitable for multi-wire electrical conductors.
