<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve shifting responsiveness of a shift apparatus of an outboard motor for switching, on the basis of a shift operation by a ship operator, a revolving direction of a propeller shaft to which a propeller is journalled, by raising rigidity of the shift apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A shift apparatus 110 of the outboard motor switches a revolving direction of a propeller shaft 64 to which a propeller 42 is rotatably attached thereto based on the shift operation by the ship operator. A shift actuator 111 for switching the revolving direction of the propeller shaft 64 is arranged right above a lower case 79 including a gear mechanism for switching an output from an engine unit from a drive shaft 60 to the propeller shaft 64. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
