<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a product obtained by removing volatile components from a carbon-silica product. <P>SOLUTION: The carbon-silica product is produced from silicon-containing plants such as chaff and rice plant straws, which are exuded with sulfuric acid to thereby remove non-silica inorganic substances and metals, while the molecular ratio of fixed carbon and silica in the residual product is regulated. Carbon and silica are closely mixed to a micron or submicron scale to give a high purity, high reactivity, small particle size and high porosity to the carbon-silica product, which contains volatile carbon to be used as an energy source to produce a silicon-containing product therefrom. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
