<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus capable of more effectively suppressing color fringing in a color image by image processing. <P>SOLUTION: Determination means determines, as a color-blurring region in which color fringing occurs, a region in which a signal level for a color plane corresponding to at least one of plural color filters of an image obtained from an image pickup device using the color filters or a signal level produced from the image exhibits a monotonic increase or a monotonic decrease, in a predetermined section in one direction. An intensity of the color blurring in the region determined by the determination means is estimated (S153), and the image is subjected to correction for decrease of the intensity of the color blurring on the basis of the estimated intensity of the color blurring. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
