<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that the error rate of a transmission line cannot be monitored accurately in a conventional wide area layer 2 network. <P>SOLUTION: The transmitter on the transmission side has a transmission unit which transmits a user frame and a test frame, a test frame generation unit which generates the test frame periodically, a transmission side operation unit which determines the transmission side error detection data by performing a predetermined operation for the user frame transmitted between the test frames, and a data insertion unit which inserts the transmission side error detection data into the test frame. The transmitter on the reception side has a reception unit which receives a user frame and a test frame, a reception side operation unit which determines the reception side error detection data by performing a predetermined operation for the user frame received between the test frames, and an error detection unit which determines an error rate by comparing a transmission side error detection data inserted into the test frame with a reception side error detection data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
