PURPOSE: A digital photographing device and a control method thereof are provided to express more accurate depth by delivering the intention about the depth to a digital camera. CONSTITUTION: A digital photographing device receives the input of depth information(702). The digital photographing device calculates depth(704). If the inputted depth information is not matched with the calculated depth, the digital photographing device increase an iris value to a one step(706,708). If the inputted depth information is matched with the calculated depth, the digital photographing device displays an depth area(710).
