<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing and using a urine collection device, system and bag for aiding in infection control and reduce patient exposure and hospital cost, and to provide a kit including the urine collection bag. <P>SOLUTION: Multi-functional urine collection device 300 can include: a self-expanding container having a receptacle 301 for receiving urine from the tubing; a pump for moving the urine into the receptacle 301 through the tubing; extendable tubing that may be shortened and/or lengthened; and/or one or more meters 320, 330 for monitoring, measuring, transmitting or storing characteristics from the urine.
