The device (1) has a fluid chamber (8) including lateral extension parts indirectly arranged close to shear gaps (10). Bars (15) are protruded in the fluid chamber, where an amount of magneto-rheological fluid (9) is measured such that the fluid chamber is not-fully filled. The shear gaps are filled with the magneto-rheological fluid for transmission of force by a creation of electromagnetic field lines (B). The magneto-rheological fluid is released or reversed to the shear gaps in an ideal state with switching-off of the electromagnetic field that activates the shear gaps. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a device for transmitting forces over a fluid chamber of a separation gap between moving parts filled with magneto-rheological fluid.
