<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver capable of displaying newly-received important broadcast information with high priority in a situation in which a screen of an application based on a communication service is displayed on the same display module in addition to a broadcast screen. <P>SOLUTION: A broadcast signal is received, an application information table is separated from the broadcast signal, and it is determined whether application quit information is contained in a control code stored in the application information table.
