PURPOSE: An electrode assembly and a secondary battery using the same are provided to prevent heat generation of batteries by preventing deformation of the electrode assembly. CONSTITUTION: An electrode assembly comprises a first electrode board(11) in which a first electrode tap(16) is fixed to one end, a second electrode board(13) in which a cathode tab(17) is fixed to the other end part, and a separator(12) interposed between the first electrode board and the separator(12). The first electrode tap is formed in a rod shape and is reeled so that the first electrode tap is positioned in the center. A secondary battery comprises an electrode assembly, an external material in which one side is opened and accommodates the electrode assembly, and a cover which seals the opened part of the exterior material.
