摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong the life of a fine particle sensor that detects the amount of fine particles in gas by using corona discharge. <P>SOLUTION: A fine particle sensor comprises an ion generating section 50, a conductive wire 122, a charging section 40 and an ion trapping section 30. The ion generating section 50 generates ions PI by using corona discharge. The conductive wire 122 supplies electric power for the corona discharge from an external power source to the ion generating section 50. The charging section 40 charges at least some fine particles S in gas by using the ions PI. The ion trapping section 30 traps ions PI that have been generated in the ion generating section 50 and not used for the fine particles S charged by the charging section 40. Under such a principle, the fine particle sensor detects the amount of the fine particles S in gas.
