<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and slender speaker that can increase input resistance and has excellent workability. <P>SOLUTION: A speaker has a dumper structure 21 having a joint member 13 joined to a diaphragm 2 and a voice coil bobbin 4, and a movable portion 22a which is joined to the joint member 13 at one end and joined to a dumper support member 23 at the other end. The joint member 13 has a front stage portion 13a joined to the diaphragm 2 and a rear stage portion 13b joined to the voice coil bobbin 4. The front stage portion 13a has a slender shape and the length at the short-diameter side thereof is equal to or smaller than the length at the short-diameter side of the diaphragm 2. The front stage portion 13a has a bridge portion 14 having a hole 14c. The inner diameter of the rear stage portion 13b has a shape longer than the length at the short-diameter side of the diaphragm 2. The voice coil bobbin 4 is joined to the diaphragm 2 through the joint member 13, so that the voice coil diameter can be increased, and the joint strength to the diaphragm 2 can be enhanced by the bridge portion 14.
