PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for exchanging data between devices based on UPnP(universal plug and play) are provided to rapidly exchange between a vehicle head unit and a mobile device in real time using a UPnP protocol. CONSTITUTION: A control unit(120) transmits an action requesting a specific parameter to a controlled device. The control unit receives. The control unit forms a Fast Event data transfer path using information included in a Return when the Return corresponding to the action, which requests for the specific parameter, is received from the controlled device. Fast Event data bus modules(130,230) receive Fast Event data by forming the Fast Event data transfer path under the control of the controller. The action requesting for the specific parameter comprises a parameter name, a parameter receiving cycle type, a parameter receiving cycle, a parameter receiving period type, and a parameter receiving period.
