<p>Provided is a television camera device able to adjust automatically the detected picture signal balance without using a grey scale chart in order to capture a better image of an object. The detected picture signal balance is adjusted using a white (achromatic) object rather than a grey scale chart. First, the television camera device images a white (achromatic) object. The G signal level is detected using a detection gate, and the lens iris is adjusted automatically in gradual fashion until the G signal level reaches a predetermined signal level (level 71, level 72, level 73, level 74). Then, the detected picture signal balance is automatically adjusted at each signal level (level 71, level 72, level 73, level 74) by aligning the signal levels for the R signal and the B signal with the signal level for the G signal.</p> |
