PURPOSE: A method and a kit for immunochromatography are provided to suppress false positive generation during signal amplification and to clearly detect a test material with high sensitivity. CONSTITUTION: An immunochromatography method comprises a step of forming a complex of a test material and a labeling material containing metals which is modified with a first binding material; a step of developing the complex on an insoluble carrier(51) under the presence of protein lysate; a step of capturing the test material and labeling material; and a step of amplifying the labeling material and detecting the test material. A kit for immunochromatography comprises: the test material containing metals; and the insoluble carrier containing a second binding material for the test material or a material which binds to the first binding material for the test material. At least one of the first and second binding materials is an antibody.
