<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a code reader capable of giving illumination friendly to eyes of a user and a program. <P>SOLUTION: The code reader comprises: imaging means; a light source; reading means; and light source control means. The imaging means images a commodity in an imaging region. The light source emits pulse light to the imaging region. The reading means reads information on the commodity from an image taken by the imaging means. The light source control means gradually increases a pulse width of the pulse light until the light amount becomes sufficient for reading of the information by the reading means when the light source is turned on, while it gradually decreases the pulse width of the pulse light until the light amount of the light source becomes zero when the light source is turned off. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
