<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner for controlling the backflow of indoor air from the inside of a room to the inside of the air conditioner on both ends of an outlet in a longitudinal direction in an indoor unit of the air conditioner to maintain a high air volume of a blower to achieve the saving of electricity and the decrease of noise as a result. <P>SOLUTION: The length of the axial direction of the rotation AX of a cross-flow fan 8 is longer than that of a longitudinal direction of the outlet. The cross-flow fan 8 is provided for an extension part 8a extending from both the ends of the outlet to the axial direction of rotation AX and an air conditioner body, and includes a collision wall 18 with which blowout airstream blown from the extension part 8a of the cross-flow fan 8 collides. Furthermore, vanes 13a of the extension part 8a and vanes 13b facing the outlet 3 are different shapes.
