<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid immersion type absorbance sensor element which can be used in a state directly put into a liquid to be measured without using a cell and the like for absorbance measurement, and an absorptiometer using the absorbance sensor element. <P>SOLUTION: The absorptiometer includes an absorbance sensor element 10 and a body part 20 for signal processing of output of the absorbance sensor element 10. The absorbance sensor element 10 is provided with a housing, at least one light source part 11 having a light-emitting surface fixed to the housing for emitting a measurement light including light of an absorption wavelength of the liquid to be measured, and at least one light detector 12 having a light-receiving surface fixed to the housing at a predetermined distance from the light-emitting surface of the light source part 11 and receiving the measurement light, which has passed through the liquid to be measured, by the light-receiving surface to output a signal indicative of the intensity of the received light. The body part is further provided with a driving circuit for supplying a driving current including an alternating current component of a predetermined frequency to the light source part 11, and a phase detection circuit for extracting and outputting a frequency component in synchronization with the predetermined frequency from the output signal of the light detector 12, and determines the absorbance of the liquid to be measured on the basis of the output of the phase detection circuit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
