Orthopaedic prosthesis intended to form a male part of a joint, such as the one between a femur and a hip, and having a hollow head (1) provided with a cavity (7), and a truncated cone (6) arranged at the end of a support shaft (2) and engaging inside the cavity (7) of the head (1), characterized in that the engagement connection between the outer surface (10) of the cone (6) and the inner surface (11) of the cavity (7) of the head (1) has, on one of these two surfaces, at least one wedge (5) oriented in a plane P passing through the axis of engagement and, on the other surface facing it, at least two grooves (4) which are of different depths and are each able to receive said wedge (5).
