<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a musical tone data correction device setting a volume change to become a desired crescendo/decrescendo expression while playing the music. <P>SOLUTION: CPU stores a performance velocity svel when a first note is played in a crescendo immediately before a current crescendo, and a performance velocity evel when a last note is played; and converts (substitutes) a velocity of each note from a second note comprising the current crescendo to a note that is one before the last, into a conversion velocity Vel that is calculated by an interpolation based on the performance velocities svel and evel.
