<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric propulsion system for a vehicle, in which one gear can be changed to another gear without intercepting the transmission of torque in a state that the one gear is always engaged. <P>SOLUTION: The propulsion system (10) comprises: electric motors (12, 14); a gear box (16) having at least three advancing gears; and a control means which controls the electric motors (12, 14) and also controls the engagement of the gears in the gear box (16). The gear box (16) has shafts, one of which has an odd number of teeth and the other has an even number of teeth, and which are connected to the electric motors (12, 14), respectively. The control means has: a first operation mode at which the first gear and the second gear are simultaneously engaged with each other; and a second operation mode at which the second gear and the third gear are simultaneously engaged with each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
