<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric kettle combining safety of preventing leakage of hot water when the electric kettle is turned over and easiness of light weight and low price. <P>SOLUTION: The electric kettle includes: a body portion 1 for storing liquid therein and removably mounted to a power source seat 4; a heater 12 disposed at the bottom of the body portion 1 and heating the liquid in the body portion 1; a lid body 3 for openably closing an opening of the body portion 1; and a handle 2 fixed on an outer shell of the body portion 1.
