摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor laser light source which is compact and has a narrow spectral linewidth. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a semiconductor laser light source comprising: a DFB laser 102 in which a diffraction grating 101 having wavelength selectivity is introduced into a semiconductor light amplification medium having a light amplification function; and a ring resonator 103 which functions as an external resonator having wavelength selectivity and provided outside the DFB laser 102. The resonator of the DFB laser 102 is extended in length such that a return light from the ring resonator 103 negatively feeds back to the DFB laser 102. This configuration simultaneously provides a spectral linewidth reduction effect by the extension of the resonator length of the DFB laser 102 and a negative feedback effect by the return light from the ring resonator 103 to the DFB laser 102. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
