<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel assembly that prevents neutron moderation efficiency from decreasing on the upper side to improve economical efficiency of nuclear fuel. <P>SOLUTION: A fuel assembly 10 includes fuel rods 12 arranged like a square lattice in a horizontal sectional view and loaded with nuclear fuel pellets, and solid moderators 13 formed such that the occupancy is larger in the upper horizontal cross-section than in the lower horizontal cross-section and comprising a material with a hydrogen atom density higher than that of cooling water. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
