Provided is a highly reliable battery provided with a support member for functioning as a fixing part or a gripping part, wherein the support member is equipped with significant fixing strength and shape-retaining strength, without there being any risk of a decline in battery properties. Using a support member (20) provided with a fixing part (20b) for fixing a battery (1) to another member, and a body-holding part (20a) for holding and fixing a region (A) having a battery element (11) housed therein, the region (A) is held and fixed by the body-holding part (20a) contacting the surface (surface (protective layer) of laminate sheet configuring outer covering) of an outer covering (10) in the peripheral section of the region (A) of the outer covering (10). Of the pair of laminate sheets configuring the outer covering, the laminate sheet (14a) on one side is formed so as to be larger than the laminate sheet (14b) on the other side. Furthermore, a protruding section (114) for protruding from a laminate-sheet-opposing region when the laminate sheets oppose one another is folded back in a manner such that an adhesive-layer side thereof is on the inside of the folded-back section, and the adhesive layer in the folded-back section adheres to the body-holding part of the support member. |
